The Church is accessible to the disabled. Although there are steps at the front entrance, wheelchair access is provided through the entrance from the Car Park or through the entrance from Catherine Street. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Services are held in the Church each Sunday at 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. All are welcome to join us, whether you live in the area or visiting it. You can be assured of a warm welcome within our Church Family and we hope that you will find a blessing from our services.

During Morning Worship, there are Creche Facilities for the younger members of our Church Family (those aged under 3) and there is a Sunday School that provides activities for those Children and Young People aged between 3 and 18.

Following Morning Worship, Coffee, Tea and Biscuits are served in the Coffee Lounge, which is located in The Sykes Hall.

A Prayer Meeting is held every Friday at 10.30 a.m. in The Prayer Room.

Worship at Southgate is best described as 'modernised traditional'. We have a choir and most of our worship includes hymns from the official Methodist 'Hymns & Psalms', but there is no fixed order of worship, the content of each service is completely in the hands of the appointed Minister or Local Preacher leading the service. It is usual for members of the congregation to take part. Our worship is very rarely dull but it would be wrong to call it 'charismatic'. Attendance at three or four services should enable the newcomer to decide if they find it congenial.

The overriding purposes of our worship are: to offer praise to God; to seek His forgiveness and to seek inspiration from the Gospel of Jesus for life in today's world.
